The Power of Journaling

Today, it can feel impossible to fully express how you’re feeling. Personally, I’ve never been an open person and felt journaling wasn’t my “thing”. I tried for years but could never implement it into my routine.

For 2026, I made it my goal to finally put my feelings onto paper. While it may be a cliche resolution, journaling is an easy way for self reflection. It is more than just writing down your thoughts, it can serve as a tool for emotional release and exploration, harboring sentimental lessons photos can’t grasp. You can easily track your progress in a judgement free space.

What I’ve Gained From Journaling

  1. Reduction In Emotional Outbreaks
I can easily allow outside stress to overwhelm me. Through journaling, I’m able to reflect on what is causing my outbursts and how to tackle the issue. I can reduce long days of tension that disrupts my routines.
  2. Serves as an Outlet for Manifesting
I am a firm believer in manifesting your personal goals. Speaking out loud what you want from life is one step further to putting those plans into action. Journaling serves as an outlet to write down aspirations as a reminder to yourself of what you want to achieve.
  3. Self-Reflection and Growth
Regular journaling not only allows you to notice patterns in behavior, but works as a tool for reflection of progress years down the road. Re-reading entries helps identify areas for improvement and can showcase how far you’ve grown over time.

Putting Pen to Paper

As someone who once rejected journaling, it’s a positive addition that forces me to perform a deeper analysis of myself beyond what I present on the surface. By taking a couple minutes each week to update my journal, I am able to create a calmer mind with clearer goals.

If you’re hesitant about starting, take it from me, your future self will thank you for it!
